“Every two weeks, the blogosphere comes alive with something called a Blog Off. A Blog Off is an event where bloggers of every stripe weigh in on the same topic on the same day. The topic for this round of the Blog Off is “What’s your favorite color?”

Reading several of this week’s Blog Off entries, I got thinkin’. What IS my favorite color? For years, it was obviously and beyond a doubt, green. Any shade, any hue, anything in the green category. Green surrounded me in my house, my clothing and nearly every facet of my life FOR YEARS.  Green is enveloping, cozy, comfortable. Especially the muted brown-greens that I gravitate towards remind me of my favorite time in Minnesota: early Autumn when the grass is drying out, the air is getting crisp and the leaves are just starting to change colors. That’s probably why you will find so many of these greens in the laNeva color line (Lichen, Mist Crackle and Oregano).

Recently I’ve felt a shift. Slowly and subtly, I am moving towards yellow. I even spent this past weekend painting my daughter’s bedroom a beautiful shade of lemony yellow that is sunny and happy and perfect.  Not that green is forgotten, not at all. Green will surely have a stronghold on my wardrobe for a long time. The grass and  leaves and moss that inhabit in my happy place are now complimented with early evening sunshine,  the last warmth of summer and the leaves turning golden before they are caught up in a warm autumn breeze.

So that is my first, intended-to-be-unofficial-but-now-made-official Blog Off entry. Paul, don’t worry, I’ll work on my own version of your perfectly succinct BlogOff description for next time. I’d better get started now
