[laNeva News] Product Launch: laNeva SK8 Patterns

In our last post, we detailed how laNeva Tile is partnering with like-minded companies and artisans to create tile designs and patterns that are greater than the sum of their parts. Dynamic, interesting, never seen before combinations that we think are pretty spectacular (can you tell?!?!)

This collaboration concept was born this past summer and was first evident with the laNeva GLASS tile launch in October. After working to refine and precisely plan our multi-media tile collaboration, we are launching today:

laNeva Tile & SK8 Tile by Art of Board

Art of Board is an incredible company that not only uses recycled skateboard decks to create graphic, functional wall tile, they also coordinate nationwide collection of used skateboard decks through their organization I Ride I Recycle and support several local and national charities.

SK8 tiles are hand cut from 100% recycled skate decks. Every scratch, scrape and gouge is kept intact – making them truly original. Each tile has its own story. They’re alive with texture, shape and color. Together, they bring that story to life in every space they inhabit – creating a vibrant visual experience in the home, retail or commercial environment.

Without further delay, here are just the starting two of our SK8 designs, featuring laNeva’s new L-shaped handmade ceramic tile and Art of Board recycled skateboard tiles:

SPAN Field Tile Patterns- Squares

Last week we announced our newest collection of field tile patterns called SPAN (to go along with our Lineal & Slice Collections of Borders) and showed you SPAN patterns using laNeva’s rectangular tiles.  Some fun layouts were included with our favorite being the 3 pattern options using our 1×6 liner. Fab-u-lous!

As promised, we are following up with the squares. It’s hip to be square (had to throw that in there!) and we see a huge resurgence in the market for square tiles. So without further delay, we bring to you:

SPAN Collection – Squares

All pattern drawings show one square foot of each layout. For those of you super-savy readers (of which you ALL are!) note that the patterns on the left and right of each tile size are the same with the left shown as a horizontal running bond and the right, vertical.

And a laNeva insider- update for people who read to the end of each post:

Within the coming week, you’ll see a few changes to the laNeva site, with our new collections (including this one) added to the “Our Tiles” tab.  Have questions? Check out the FAQ’s or contact us for more details.  We love to hear from laNeva Tile fans!

The Slice Collection Release

We’ve had a great week with a new Lineal Collection border launch each day.  Now, for the final tie-in, a component piece. The Slice Collection is for those who may just want a splash of gorgeous handmade tile, or those who want to add another detail to their laNeva Lineal Border or solid color handmade field tile.

The Slice Collection is a ribbon of mesh-mounted tile, using 2×2 or 3×3 square Rift tiles, or those sizes along with their coordinating rectangle sizes.

We introduce the Slice Collection and a few of its variations:

2x2 Slice "A" shown in #90 Oregano / #61 Sky

2x2 Slice "B" Shown in #90 Oregano/#61 Sky

(All drawings and photos above show 2 lineal feet of Slice design each.)

With any of these layouts, you choose to have horizontal (A) or vertical (B) Rift tiles (with Rift color divisions shown as dotted lines in the drawings above).

Slice using only square tiles is available using 2″x 2″ or 3″x 3″ tiles.

Slice using square and rectangular tiles is available in combinations of 3×3/3×6 OR 2×2/2×4 and is a smaller version of our Rift Valley Lineal border pattern released this past week.

Of course, the Slice Collection components are available using any standard combination of our handmade Rift Series tiles.

If you are looking for a simple border, use any of colors with any layout variation as a listello insert within a larger tile wall design.  If you just want a touch of tile, use these alone, with an overglazed (finished) top edge for a  ribbon of tile at a backsplash.  Want to create a large, dramatic design? Use a Slice accent as a secondary detail along with our Rift Valley Lineal border.  The possibilities are endless!

Lineal Border Collection Finale: Day 6

This is the final day of our week-long Lineal Collection border launch, and we are so excited to show you this incredible border design!

The second of two Lineal Collection borders using our Rift Series tiles, this utilizes laNeva’s unique 2-color tile in a whole new and previously unavailable way– BIG! This is our very first time offering 4″x4″ laNeva Rift Series tiles, and oh, they are gorgeous!

Each Rift tile is handmade, hand glazed and completely unique.  There is a natural chemical reaction that occurs at the overlap line of the two glaze colors and depending on the glazes used, this reaction may create bubbles, a muted color blending or a third color entirely.  To learn more about our Rift tiles and the name, check out our blog post on the Rift.

Are you ready for our final Lineal Collection design?  We present to you, Rift Valley.

(If you want an up close and personal view, click on any image)

A more delicate border overall but with big impact, this one measures approximately 6″ H. It’s softly undulating, organic Rift pattern creates a division point reminiscent of the horizon.

Rift Valley is shown here using the following laNeva Solid Colors:

  • 1″x 6″  & 1/2″x 6″  liner bars at top and bottom: #68 Twilight
  • 1″x2″ random insert at bottom: #68 Twilight
  • 4″x4″  & 2″x 4″ Rift Tiles: #95 Lichen/ #68 Twilight

Finished with a sand colored grout.

This border measures approximately 6″ tall, 3/8″ thick and is sold mesh mounted in 12″ lengths.  The Rift tiles and bottom border pieces are randomly placed with no true repeat.

One method to create a completely different look with Rift Valley is to use #95 Lichen as the border accent in place of Twilight, or switch the colorway entirely to a different Rift Tile, but we don’t know why you’d do that since this is so fabulous and full of character!  Our other beautiful Rift Tile colors are as follows:

Here’s the rundown of this past week and the new Lineal Collection borders:

And finally, if you want the lowdown on our Lineal Collection, here’s how it works:

laNeva Tile’s “Lineal” border collection is a series of 6 pre-designed, mesh-mounted borders of our most popular patterns. Since you choose the colors and combinations, your border can be as contemporary or traditional as you’d like. We provide detailed drawings and you personalize the design with our choice of any of our solid color glazes(or Rift glazes for Woven Rift and Rift Valley).

Thanks for joining us on this week-long product launch adventure!  We have ONE more big announcement for Monday that ties in directly to today’s post. Stick around for one more exciting Rift product perfect for those who may just want a splash of handmade tile. See you Monday!

Lineal Border Launch: Day 3

Monday we introduced you to the Lineal Collection of borders and our first design, Bamboo Forest.  Yesterday we featured another transitional design, Herringbone Classico.  Enough of the standards, we’re here today to wow you! Announcing our ultra-mod pattern, Marching Orders.

Graphic in nature, this pattern cries out for bold colors and lots of contrast. The block design, in its full repeat creates an undulating “wave” (1″x1″ tiles up to to 4″x4″ and then back down again) that is not evident at first glance and prevents this baby from getting too square.  Marching Orders is shown here using the following laNeva Solid Colors:

  • 1″ x 6″ horizontal liner bars used at the top & bottom: #31 Snow
  • 1/2″x 6″ horizontal liner bar at the bottom: #24 Steel
  • 1″ x 1″ body: #84 Siren
  • 1″x 1″, 2″x 2″, 3″x 3″ & 4″x 4″  Accent: #31 Snow

Finished with a sand colored grout.

This border measures approximately 9-1/2″ tall, 3/8″ thick and is sold mesh mounted in 12″ lengths.  There is a 24″ pattern repeat on the body of the design.

Unlike yesterday, where we suggested an alternate color scheme to add some pizzaz, today’s alternate should create an option to tone this wild child down a bit. For a more subdued but just as fabulous look, try a random combination of #71 Dune and #90 Oregano (shown below) in place of the red or choose any of laNeva’s Solid Color tiles.

If you didn’t catch yesterday’s release, check out the luxe beauty of Herringbone Classico. Want to see where it all began?  Here is Mondays post, with the release of Bamboo Forest. And finally, if you want the Cliff notes on our Lineal Collection, here’s how it works:

laNeva Tile’s “Lineal” border collection is a series of 6 pre-designed, mesh-mounted borders of our most popular patterns. Since you choose the colors and combinations, your border can be as contemporary or traditional as you’d like.

We provide the detailed drawings and the color examples and you personalize the design with our choice of any of our solid color glazes. It’s still a custom design made just for you, but with no pricing surprises and a faster lead time. What’s not to like with that?

Another Lineal Collection border will be featured tomorrow, and each day this week. Stay tuned. We’re just getting started!

Lineal Border Launch: Day 2

Yesterday we introduced you to the Lineal Collection of borders and our first design, Bamboo Forest.  We are keeping with the more transitional designs today and featuring another of our widely popular borders, Herringbone Classico.

A bit tongue-in-cheek, this herringbone is thoroughly modern with its impressively-chunky 10″ height and random color layout. Herringbone Classico is shown here using the following laNeva Solid Colors:

  • 1″ x 6″ horizontal liner bars used at the top & bottom: #24 Steel
  • 1″ x 2″ & 1″ x 1″ random tile: #77 Café, #71 Dune

Finished with a sand colored grout.

This border measures approximately 10″ tall, 3/8″ thick and is sold mesh mounted in 12″ lengths.  There is a 4″ pattern repeat on the body of the design, but all colors are randomly placed.

While these neutral colors are quite at home in both a modern loft or more traditional space, for a completely different look (how about Retro!) try a combination of #73 Butter, #77 Café and  #92 Mist Crackle (shown below) or choose any of laNeva’s Solid Color tiles.

If you didn’t catch yesterday’s release, see Bamboo Forest here. If you want the Cliff notes on our Lineal Collection and how it works:

laNeva Tile’s “Lineal” border collection is a series of 6 pre-designed, mesh-mounted borders of our most popular patterns. Since you choose the colors and combinations, your border can be as contemporary or traditional as you’d like.

Announcing the Lineal Collection Borders

Announcing laNeva’s new pre-designed tile border series!

Our “Lineal” border collection is a series of 6 pre-designed, mesh-mounted borders of our most popular patterns. Since you choose the colors and combinations, your border can be as contemporary or traditional as you’d like.

We provide the detailed drawings and the color examples and you personalize the design with any of our colors you would like. It’s still a custom design made just for you, but with no pricing surprises and a faster lead time. What’s not to like with that?

We will be announcing one of our Lineal borders each day this week with our first, that we are calling “Bamboo Forest”.

Bamboo Forest is named due to its strong vertical nature and tile separations that mimic the horizontal striations in bamboo. It is shown here using the following laNeva Solid Colors:

  • 1″x 6″ horizontal liner bars used at the top & bottom: #68 Twilight
  • 1/2″ x 6″ vertical liner used in the design: #61 Sky
  • 1″x 2″ vertical tile: #92 Mist Crackle

Finished with a sand colored grout.

This border measures approximately 8-1/2″ tall, 3/8″ thick and is sold mesh mounted in 12″ lengths.  There is no pattern repeat, all vertical tiles are randomly placed.

Contemporary Concept Boards

laNeva Tile has been busy, busy, busy this summer. We’ve been shipping out loads of samples and our favorite project right now is a series of 8 concept boards for our new dealer, Christopher’s Baths and Kitchens in Englewood, Colorado. We’ve been so busy in fact, we have no idea where the time has gone. Blog posts? What blog posts?

Well, the concept boards for Christopher’s are nearly done and we can’t wait to reveal all the lovely modern details and bold colors of these 9 boards, but for now we will leave you with a few snapshots… including the Christopher’s EXCLUSIVE Rift Series color combo of #71 Dune/ #24 Steel. We love the play of matte metallic Steel and the glossy, subtle crackle of Dune.

You may be surprised with this board set. They are bold, fun and an introduction to our standard pattern project to be announced later this year. Enjoy!
